Anguilla Announces Relaxed Travel Protocols for Fully-Vaccinated Visitors, Vacationing within Bubble is No Longer Required

UPDATED OCTOBER 22, 2021

Anguilla has announced the following relaxed traveler protocols for visitors starting November 1, 2021. All protocols are subject to change at any time without notice. Please refer to the Anguilla Tourist Board to confirm latest protocols. Beaches Edge is a licensed and Safe Environment Certified villa.

Pre-Arrival Requirements

All visitors 18 years and older must be fully vaccinated to be allowed entry into Anguilla; pregnant women are exempt from this requirement.  The definition of “fully vaccinated” is three (3) weeks or twenty-one (21) days after the second dose of vaccine.  Mixed vaccines are accepted but they must be a variation of Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Moderna.

Travelers must apply for Entry Permission at www.ivisitanguilla.com; the application for entry will include an arrival testing fee of US$50 per person.

Applications will not be accepted later than Noon EST the day before the day of arrival. For assistance with the travel application portal visitors may email visitanguilla@gov.ai (please allow up to 12 hours for a reply); or call 1-264-584-2710, or 1-264-497-5666 between the hours of 8 AM and 7 PM EST.

A negative Covid-19 test will still be required, but the test must now be taken no less than 2 – 5 days prior to arrival.

Acceptable Test Types Are:

  • Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction tests (RT-PCR)
  • Nucleic Acid Amplification tests (NAA)
  • RNA or molecular test
  • Antigen tests completed via a nasopharyngeal swab

The laboratory that processes the pre-arrival test must be accredited.  Self-administered and antibody tests will not be accepted.

On Arrival Requirements

Everyone in your party (including children under 18 and pregnant women) will be tested on arrival and will be required to travel by approved taxi (we can arrange for you) to Beaches Edge where you will stay in place at the villa while the arrival test is processed by the Ministry of Health (results are usually communicated within 24 hours). We can arrange grocery stocking and restaurant delivery for you (additional charge). If your arrival test result is negative, you will not need to further quarantine and you will be free to explore the island on your own, including renting a car.

Guests staying on island for more than 8 days MAY be tested on Day 4 of their visit. If a Day 4 test is required the test will be administered at no additional cost to you.

  • Mask wearing will be mandatory where you cannot be socially distanced indoors or when required by the government or requested by vendors, businesses or staff.
  • Protocols for visitors who test positive for COVID-19 remain the same. Travel parties will need to quarantine if a member tests positive and the person who tested positive will need to isolate. The MOH will provide additional instructions at the time of the positive test.
  • Please bring printed copies of all of your entry paperwork, test results and vaccination card with you to Anguilla.

All protocols are subject to change at any time without notice. For instructions on how to apply for entry, approved pre-arrival tests and other travel information, please visit the Anguilla Tourist Board website.

If you are arriving before November 1, 2021, please contact us for current protocols.

Sint Maarten and other Anguilla travel gateways are separate countries from Anguilla and may have different entry protocols, testing schedules and testing requirements. Please contact them directly. Trip insurance is always recommended. If you require an onward test before departure from Anguilla, tests are available on island for a fee. Please let us know your needs before your trip so we can assist you with scheduling.
